Does NMN need to be kept cold?
You may have heard these comments from David Sinclair:

“Make sure your NR and your NMN is kept in the cold. If it’s just on the shelf and it’s not in a stabilised form, then it will degrade into nicotinamide, which is something you don’t want to take high doses”
The important word here is “stabalised”.
In the past NMN was not stabilised and therefore, should have been stored in the cold between 2-8℃ temperatures to avoid degradation. Dr Sinclair may be referring to the NMN from his old Harvard trials in this interview – we are not sure.
Thankfully however, NMN production techniques have improved immensely over the past few years. Most NMN on the market today, including NMN by Alive By Nature/Science, is stabilised, meaning degradation is slow even at high temperatures.
Alive By Science / Nature whose NMN is manufactured in the US have carried out their own testing to confirm this:

When purchasing from reputable suppliers, you can be confident your NMN is unlikely to degrade in any significant amount, in storage and in transit.
Once you have received your supplements, keep them in a cool, dry place away from sunlight and there will be little effect to your NMN.
Avoiding humidity should be your biggest concern as this moisture can degrade NMN quickly
We still recommend to store in the refrigerator if you intend on keeping your NMN for over 3 months to maintain full potency.
